Nationwide background checks
Nationwide background
checks are recommended for filling high risking
positions within your company.
Whom you place at the top of your company
directly affects your companies reputation,
integrity, and profitability. Nationwide
background checks will ensure all three.
Business owners, executives, and managers, are
responsible for employing or appointing
employees with exemplary experience, knowledge
and reputations to your firm.
Nationwide background checks may take several
days to several weeks to complete, depending on
the agency, and the degree of the evaluation.
Depending on the extent of the investigation,
the reports may range from $50 to more than
$200.
Nationwide background checks must be performed
by a reputable pre-employment screening agency.
In conducting a nationwide background check,
information must be collected from databases not
from active registers. The input for the federal
database comes from local, county, state, and
federal law enforcement agencies. Depending on
manpower, the database may not be updated on a
regular bases, resulting in frequently outdated
records, or the overlooking of newly listed
felony or misdemeanor convictions.
Finding the right investigators to sort through
the data takes research and time on your part.
The old saying, you get what you pay for, holds
true here. Bargain firms may not have the
accurate and current systems. However, you do
not want to invest your companies total profit
either, for an agency that doesn't deliver what
they promise. Therefore, conduct intensive
research, obtain references, and speak with some
of their clients. If an agency is not willing to
give you references, then you must ask yourself
what they are hiding. Look at the agency as if
it were a potential employee. When you have
reduced the numbers of prospective candidates,
request test cases from them, which will give
you an idea of how reports will appear. If the
test cases are ambivalent or hard to follow
continue your search.
